FULL GOSPEL BAPTIST CHURCH FELLOWSHIP (BAHAMAS) DENOMINATION

page2

While blessed and inspired by their past accomplishments, as members of a progressive organization such as the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship, leaders of the Bahamas Region understand that with God every round goes higher and higher!  Therefore, in keeping with the theme as declared by their International Presiding Bishop 2007 was the year, that they embraced the challenge to “Go to the next dimension”.

For the Bahamas Region of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship – That Next Dimension was a leading to make the bold and progressive step of reorganizing and transitioning from simply being a Fellowship of Churches, into becoming an Official Denomination in The Commonwealth of The Bahamas.  This move affording member churches all of the rights and privileges of every other religious denomination in the country; thereby positioning them to partake in benefits which were previously not available to them as members of a Fellowship.

The Special Service also facilitated the elevation of a number of deserving Full Gospel leaders to higher offices of service; as this new denomination restructured its leadership team to better position itself to blaze new trails and scale unprecedented heights in the Body of Christ here in The Bahamas.

As outlined in the Memorandum of Association, the highest ranking Bahamian leader within the international structure will serve as the leader of the denomination; thus Senior Pastor of Mount Tabor Full Gospel Baptist Church, Bishop Neil C. Ellis, International Second Presiding Bishop, will serve as Chairman of the Board and leader of the Full Gospel (Bahamas) Denomination.  The Board is comprised of all other Bahamian consecrated Bishops and Bishop B. Wenith Davis, Senior Pastor of Zion South Beach Baptist Church and International Bishop of Global Affairs was appointed to serve as Vice Chairman of the Board.  Bishop Ellis therefore, relinquished his position as Bahamas Regional Bishop and that post was filled by Bishop Godfrey Williams, Senior Pastor of St. John’s Jubilee Cathedral in Freeport Grand Bahama.  Also elevated at that Service were Bishop Arnold Josey, Senior Pastor of Commonwealth Mission Baptist Church to the position of State Bishop of the Bahamas; Overseer Othnell Humes, Senior Pastor of Harold Road Baptist Church to the position of State Overseer of New Providence and Pastor Ivry Johnson, Senior Pastor of Gilead Full Gospel Baptist Church to the position of District Overseer of Western New Providence.

The group of vibrant, visionary leaders that now comprise the Full Gospel Baptist Church Denomination are excited about the blessings and privileges that the new denominational structure now affords them, and they have pledged themselves to working even more tirelessly towards the urgent and serious assignment of the up building of the Kingdom of God within the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.  They therefore anticipate great things happening as result of their renewed commitment to doing great exploits for the glory of Almighty God.

Ground breaking new plans were outlined by both the new Chairman and the new Regional Bishop, and the overriding sentiment was that in every endeavor of this new Denomination, “God almighty would be glorified for He and He alone, deserves all the Glory!
