Counseling Oversight

Counseling is overseen by the Senior Pastor and the Pastoral Team.

The Ministry of Counselling at Mount Tabor Church Life

The Ministry of Counselling at Mount Tabor Church Life is a journey filled with both mountain-top experiences and unexpected valleys. At Mount Tabor Church, we believe you never have to walk through a tough time alone. Our counselling ministry is dedicated to providing Christ-centered, compassionate, and practical guidance for individuals, couples, and families navigating the complexities of life.

Our Mission: Hope, Healing, and Wholeness

Our mission is to help people experience hope, healing, and personal transformation through the sufficient truth of God’s Word.

We strive to:

  • Offer compassionate support during times of crisis, grief, conflict, and personal struggle.
  • Equip you with biblical principles and tools for lasting change and spiritual maturity.
  • Foster growth in your relationship with God and your relationships with others.

We practice:

  • A holistic and Christ-centered form of biblical counseling.
  • Their approach is designed to address the “whole person”—spiritually, emotionally, and socially—rather than focusing solely on theological issues.

Based on our church’s mission and pastoral structure, following are the key aspects of our counseling ministry:

Holistic Biblical Counseling

The church follows a model that seeks to apply the Gospel to practical, real-world problems.

Christ-Centered View

We view human life through the lens of Scripture, emphasizing that true healing and strength come from a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Integrated Approach

While the foundation is the Bible, our counseling recognizes the physical, developmental, and social factors that contribute to a person’s struggles.

Discipleship Culture

Counseling is often viewed as an extension of discipleship; it is not treated as a separate, clinical appointment but as a core part of a person’s spiritual growth. When counseling is viewed as an extension of discipleship, it shifts from problem solving to life-patterning.

Mount Tabor Church provides counseling that is deeply integrated into their ministry of “discipleship and restoration.” While the church offers several specialized programs, the best way to access these services is through their central administrative office.

1. Contact Information

You can reach the church directly to inquire about scheduling a counseling session or to find out which specific ministers are currently leading their family programs.

  • Email: info@mounttabor.org
  • Physical Address: #82 Willow Tree Avenue & Mount Tabor Drive, Pinewood Gardens, Nassau, Bahamas
  • Mailing Address: P.O. Box N-9705, Nassau, Bahamas.

Mount Tabor places a heavy emphasis on the family unit. Their counseling services for couples and families typically include:

  • Pre-Marital Counseling: A mandatory requirement for couples wishing to be married at Mount Tabor, focusing on biblical foundations for communication, finance, and spiritual unity.
  • Marital & Relationship Counseling: Support for couples navigating challenges, often facilitated by the pastoral team or trained elders.
  • Parental Guidance: Specialized mentoring for parents, including past initiatives like the “Commission on Evangelism,” which has historically supported teen parents and single-mother households.
  • Crisis Counseling: Immediate spiritual support for families facing sudden loss, trauma, or medical crises.

3. Community Referrals

For clinical or psychological needs that go beyond pastoral care, the church often maintains a relationship with the Christian Counselling Centre (located on Highland Terrace in Nassau). This allows members to receive professional mental health services that still align with their Christian values.

The Armour Bearers Ministry of Mount Tabor Church is composed of highly dedicated, loyal, and discreet Appointed Elders and Servants committed to providing comprehensive support to the Senior Pastor, the First Lady, and the entire pastoral family (including children and grandchildren), Foundering Pastor and First Lady and their entire family, reflecting the service shown in 1 Samuel 16:21 (KJV).
