In 2020, Dr. Ellis was invited by Globus Travel and The Ministry of Tourism for The Kingdom of Jordan to participate in a fact-finding mission with a group of travel advisors to promote the country. Upon his return, the pandemic broke out, halting travel. During this time, Dr. Ellis felt a divine calling to lead and cover people in prayer, resulting in the creation of Prayer Watch 5.0, an online prayer initiative held at 5 am three times a week.

The pandemic caused widespread job losses and hunger. In response, Dr. Ellis was inspired to provide groceries for 100 people. The community’s support enabled him to expand this effort significantly. Prayer Watch 5.0 was able to feed taxi drivers, straw vendors, beauticians, and self-employed individuals in Nassau, Grand Bahama, Bimini, Exuma, and Eleuthera. Due to the prolonged impact of the pandemic, Dr. Ellis and Keepers Prayer Watch 5.0 continued to provide much-needed assistance to those in need.

They distributed over 8,000 bags of groceries and food vouchers, 10,000 hot meals, 7,000 toys for children, and back-to-school items across Nassau and seven other islands, as well as in four states in the United States and Honduras. Pastor Ellis also returned to his birthplace, Bimini, where he and other descendants of Bimini organized a week-long event, providing three breakfasts and two lunches to all senior citizens, along with a case of water and a bag of fruits. During this week, they also fed all 92 government employees on the island and hosted a fun day for over 300 children.

Over the past decade, Pastor Ellis has been a tremendous support to hurricane survivors in The Bahamas. in 2019, he mobilized a warehouse in Florida, collecting items from pastors and friends across America, and sent over 20 pallets of goods to Abaco and Freeport to families surviving Hurricane Dorian. Pastor Ellis consistently rises to the occasion during major crises. Three months into the pandemic, after the passing of his brother and sister-in-law, Pastor David and Elder Elmyra Ellis, Pastor Delton was called to oversee the work at Freewill Christian Center, in South Florida. He assisted the church and community until a senior pastor was appointed. During his tenure, they held their first turkey giveaway, started a children’s Christmas toy drive, and launched a community outreach program.

In 2022, Pastor Ellis and Prayer Watch 5.0 partnered with Pastor France George and Heritage Missionary Baptist to assist seven communities in Nassau, providing hot breakfasts for 300 people each month. In August of that year, they distributed 500 bags of school supplies in Nassau, Exuma, and Eleuthera. During Thanksgiving week, they hosted a major festival at Saxon Park, distributing clothing for 500 people, toys for 200 children, household items, and 1,000 hot meals.

Additionally, Pastor Ellis and Keepers Prayer Watch 5.0 distributed over 41,000 bottles of water, symbolizing life and helping to break the spirit of death during the pandemic. That summer, they partnered with Pastor Delly Sand and Remnant Outreach Ministry in St. Augustine, Florida, distributing over 200 boxes of groceries and 200 cases of water in the inner city. Through their partnership with Remnant Outreach Ministry, they secured a 40-foot container of cleaning and sanitizing supplies, which Pastor Ellis distributed to 30 churches in the USA and more than 30 churches, charities, and organizations in The Bahamas.
